I’m Nick Hamman, and this might just be the best kota in Gauteng. I’m not only saying that because it’s absolutely delicious and made using SuperSoft — a brand doing the most for local food businesses right now. I’m saying it because this kota has beaten countless hopefuls from across the province to be crowned the champion of the SuperSoft Kota Competition! To break the news, the squad and I headed deep into Emdeni, Soweto, with my sidekick and main bra, Loafy, to meet the winner: Mfundo Gasa, the local legend behind Eli Foods and Events. In addition to 100 loaves of SuperSoft bread, which will no doubt be a massive boost for his business, the SuperSoft team awarded Mfundo R10,000. And it couldn’t have gone to a more deserving South African. Mfundo is working hard to build a better future, uplift his community, employ more fellow South Africans and create a fantastic product that continues the proud legacy of one of Mzansi’s greatest culinary creations.
